The Ministry of Housing, under the transitional government, has announced the forthcoming availability of 1,500 additional plots as part of the social program “One Gabonese, one plot.” This initiative is a key component of the Igoumié Land Development Project, which is the outcome of a robust public-private partnership.
Following the recent release of 500 serviced plots, Minister of Housing Ludovic Megne Ndong has confirmed that another 1,500 plots will be allocated by August 15. Spanning nearly 120 hectares, this development project aims to address the land scarcity issue in Gabon by facilitating access to secure and affordable land.
Land disputes are prevalent in Gabon, both in urban areas and rural regions. These plots, situated on approximately 120 hectares, seek to tackle the land scarcity problem in Gabon by providing secure land at an accessible cost.
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must meet specific criteria, including Gabonese nationality, a legalized copy of their birth certificate, a copy of their marriage certificate (if applicable), a copy of their National Identity Card (NIC), a civil status form, and payment of 2.5 million FCFA.
Due to the high volume of applications received during the initial phase, the Minister of Housing has specified that priority will be given to applicants who have already submitted an application for these 1,500 plots.
